What mount did you use to take deepsky astrophotos with the C90?

Q: Hello Jenham, what is the name of your mount and drive? I have a C90 but a rubbish alt az mount. I need some assist haha thanks!

A: Hi, the mount in the video is a Vixen AP equatorial, which is a nice lightweight simple mount that suffers mainly due to being far too expensive for what it is! More helpfully, there are a lot of mount choices out there that don’t reach Vixen prices. I assume you are looking for a small to medium payload equatorial that would suit a C90 and perhaps a future, larger scope. Correct me if this is wrong. Depending on where you are in the world I’d research the local costs of a Skywatcher EQM-35 or an Orion Skyview Pro. These are quite portable and will handle the C90 easily. Spending less money? Try an EQ3 mount with motors and no GOTO (or similar). Spending more? Go for a Skywatcher HEQ5 Pro (which is the same as an Orion Atlas EQ-G). These are heavier mounts that would be capable of much larger payloads. I hope this helps narrow the field a bit. Graham
